What a precious treasure the Bible is to the believer. It is of more value than silver or gold. Whilst all scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable,the most treasured words in scripture are those which came from the lips of Christ. ‘Never man spake like this man’. Of all His recorded words there are none
more precious than the seven sacred sayings from the cross, spoken in the agony of crucifixion. Each saying teaches a fundamental truth about the character of God. Each has a practical lesson for the Christian life. Each has a devotional message to draw out our affections to the One who first loved us.

MERVYN WISHART resides with his wife Margaret in Newcastle, County Down, Northern Ireland. He is an elder in the Shimna Gospel Hall. His working life was spent in the construction industry. He is actively involved in gospel preaching and Bible teaching for many decades. He contributes regularly to assembly magazines both in the UK and India
